Provided by YP.comComplete remodel by Shields Construction / Rock Investments (owned by Thomas I. Shields Sr.). On day one the garbage disposal did not work, this was fixed at no cost to us. The electricity went off in the upstairs bedroom within several weeks, a loose wire, again fixed at no charge to us. The faucet in the upstairs bathroom was not secured, fixed at no cost to us. At about 6 months my father-in-law noticed that the wood floors were not stained or lacquered on the instep of the front door, apparently the person did not take the time to open the front door and do that. Within a few months there was water that ran down the wall from the upstairs and downstairs bathtub damaging the drywall. I caulked this but when I did the caulk would split in the groove of the fiberglass walls because the tub would move slightly when you stepped in, probably not secured correctly. At about the same time the brand new upstairs toilet leaked, the seal was replaced by my father-in-law. Within 7 months of living in the home both concrete porches that were redone including paint and mortar had chips coming out of the top and hunks the size of my fist coming off the side. There were also cracks on the sides. Within 6 month the front and side porch railing that were painted white peeled and had to be sanded and repainted with outdoor paint. There are multiple electrical sockets that stick out, we are talking about the whole unit that fits into the wall, the box too. The kitchen counter top caulk cracked and the counter top sunk about 1/8”. Dry wall nails are backing out. Hot water heater element burned out. At just over a year now there are various cracks in seams where drywall come together and where trim meets the ceiling and drywall. Probably the most aggravating is the slopes and sinking in the floor upstairs. I attempted to contact Shields Construction by my call was not returned.
