Good business isn't just about getting the job done, it's about serving the customer as well. I took my daughter's violin in to get new strings. The guy behind the counter seemed slightly confused but we finally got it registered. He took my name, my daughter's name and my phone number and he told me it would be two days. He gave me a ticket stub with a number.One week went by and no one had called me yet so I called and left a message. No one returned my call. I called again later that week and I think I spoke to the owner. He took both names and my phone number and told me he could not find the violin anywhere. I offered the ticket number and he said "we dont use those". He told me he would call me next week when his Tech was in.Another several days went by and still no one called me, so I called again. I provided both names and my phone number. This time after a couple minutes, he finally found the violin. I told him I couldn't understand what the confusion was and it was quite an inconvenience to have the violin gone two weeks. The man on the phone, whom I believe was the owner, told me it was my fault for giving two names and that somebody must have called me back but I just didn't get the phone call. Um wrong. Why would I keep calling then, and why would he tell me he couldn't find it the first time?! He again said it was my fault.I come from the belief that you never blame the customer. It seems to me like they need a better system for following up. After a two-week inconvenience there was no price concession offered to me for anything, and no apology. That will be the first and last time I go to Jerry's Music
