General Info
What is The ReStore: A retail operation that accepts donations of new, overstocked, discontinued, excess, and lightly used building materials, furniture, appliances, and other large home goods. These donations are then resold to the general public to finance affiliate projects that directly support the creation or maintenance of safe, decent, and affordable housing. A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE HAS A DECENT PLACE TO LIVE The ReStore helps the Habitat For Humanity global vision in 4 key ways: 1. Environmental – Reducing the number of non-renewable resources consumed by minimizing landfill use and through the encouragement of reuse, recycling, and repurpose. 2. Economic - Providing alternative disposal for builders, contractors, and homeowners with usable excess building materials and unneeded cabinetry, furniture, and appliances. 3. Social – Providing affordable options for home revitalization and decoration. As well as aiding those of lower income to improve their own housing situation. And encouraging crafty do-it-yourselfers or those looking for a new project. 4. Partnering – Serving in the construction of Habitat homes by providing necessary financial resources and increasing community awareness of the financial and volunteer needs of Habitat home builds.
