Located in Waterloo, Iowa, Northeast Iowa Food Bank is a social welfare organization that provides food and grocery products for individuals, as well as various nonprofit organizations. It offers food distribution, elderly weekend bags and operation family pack programs. The organization provides food boxes for senior citizens who live in Black Hawk, Butler, Chickasaw, Bremer, Buchanan, Marshall, Poweshiek, Tama and Grundy counties in Iowa. Northwest Iowa Food Bank is part of a nationwide food distribution s network that operates more than 1,600 food serving sites that annually provide over 12 million meals to children in nearly 40 U.S. states. The organization offers backpacks for children in schools, churches, and day care and community centers. It receives funds from the Cedar Valley United Way and the Waverly-Shell Rock United Way. The Northeast Iowa Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, which is one of the largest charitable hunger relief organizations in the United Sates.
