I recently purchased 88 tons of pit run from this company after discussing with the owner my plans to add a parking pad. He (Steve) assured me their pit run, once it was watered down well and compacted, it would be smooth and hard. It would not require any capping such as D1. I purchased it based on this comment and after following his directions, it was still very soft. The contractor involved in the compacting said there was no binder in it so it wouldn't pack down. I discussed these concerns with the owner and he came by to look at it. He said he "would make things right, whatever that meant." When the time came to fix this problem, he refused to stand behind his product at all. He has my money, and I have nothing to show for it. I would highly recommend you use a more reputable company that cares about its customers; Hollywood Sand and Gravel is not customer oriented.
