Dr. Tamer Mansour is a pleasant and dedicated board-certified Ophthalmologist and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Following his medical school degree and ophthalmology residency at Howard University, he completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania's Scheie Eye Institute. He is also a member of the prestigious American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) which requires a rigorous application and examination process after fellowship training. Dr. Mansour supervises and trains GW residents, in addition to residents from Georgetown and Howard University programs, at the Washington D.C Veterans hospital. Dr. Mansou's love of clinical and surgical teaching was recognized with the Teacher of the Year award in June 2013. In addition, he is the International Medical Mission Director at George Washington University. He has truly enjoyed serving on medical missions in countries such as Egypt, Ethiopia, and Ecuador which he does almost yearly affording an invaluable experience to resident surgeons that participate with him. Dr. Mansour sees patients at GW for oculoplastic consultations which include concerns such as droopy eyelids, excessive eyelid skin, tearing/tear duct problems, eyelid lesions, traumatic eye injuries, and cosmetic concerns that may require surgery, botox and/or fillers. Dr. Mansour is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts his consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate individual needs and concerns. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Washingtonian magazine from 2017 to 2020. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Mansour loves to play squash, tennis and soccer in his spare time. He also has a special interest for art and architecture. He enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
