Lee Ann Savio Beers, M.D., is a professor of Pediatrics and the medical director for Community Health and Advocacy at Childrenâ??s National Hospital. She is the 2021 president of theamerican Academy of Pediatrics. She oversees the Child Health Advocacy Instituteâ??s Community Mental Health CORE, which includes initiatives such as the DC Mental Health Access in Pediatrics Program and the Early Childhood Innovation Network, and serves as a catalyst to elevate the standard of mental health care for every young person in Washington D.C.
