In the last few years new owners have overhauled the place while still respecting the needs of local patrons. They still sell beer and lotto tickets but the new owners have added fresh bakery goods plus a great soup selection. I've heard sandwiches are next. They've cleaned up the spot and added historically accurate touches to restore some of the charm. In the wake of Heller's closing it can't be overstated how much Mt. Pleasant needs this spot.
