The American Society of Interior Designers, also known as ASID, has been operational since 1975. Its more than 40,000 members engage in a variety of professional programs and activities through a network of over 40 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. The organization has student chapters for colleges, universities and design schools. The American Society of Interior Designers also offers career and resume development services. It is a community of designers, industry representatives, educators and students. In addition, the organization provides advocacy, community building and outreach solutions. The American Society of Interior Designers offers various membership opportunities for students and professionals.
