Best school in the Hudson Valley! Kind and encouraging atmosphere. Small class sizes mean greater attention to your child. Academics are strong.

Great school. Academically and spiritually strong. My children are so happy here. I'd definitely recommend. Don't listen to the other reviews on this page, look at the reviews on Great Schools.

I am not too happy with St. Mary's this year. They have started a bilingual program with the religious education program. I have nothing against the Spanish language, but my child who is English speaking can not relate to it and connect. The Easter Vigil was half in Spanish and when the children make the sacraments, Communion and Confirmation, half of the mass is also in Spanish! We do not have a tremendous Spanish speaking population in Wappingers Falls, and I am quite positively certain that the mothers of the children who are bilingual would want them to learn English. This I feel is a step down. We have bilingual texts in the classrooms for religious ed., and my 8 year old says to me, what are the funny words on the cover, mommy? If this continues, we will be switching parishes as I heard some moms also might be doing in the years to come.

Don't! All the bad things you've heard about Catholic schools apply here(except evil nuns, there used to be nuns but that was a long time ago and I don't know if they were evil or not). Now there are teachers with serious mental issues that think discipline is screaming and slamming doors. Also a good deal of 19th century thinking and attempted brainwashing. Expensive(although cheaper than area private schools) but the facilities are sorely lacking. No lockers, kids getting back aches from lugging 25 lbs. of books home every night.Academically, okay but not significantly better than any decent public school. Don't.
