Basic American Foods is located in Walnut Creek, Calif., with processing plants in principal growing regions throughout the United States. On the international front, Basic American Foods has offices in Mexico City and Hong Kong. Established by Jack and Bill Hume in 1933, Basic American offers mashed potatoes, scalloped and au gratin potatoes, hash brown potatoes, chili and bean products and specialty sides, such as potato pancake mix and potato cheese bake.
