Established in 1967, The Hospice of Charles County is a nonprofit organization that provides palliative care services. The organization s staff is comprised of nurse case managers, home health assistants, social workers, pastoral counselors, bereavement coordinators and volunteers. It organizes Children s Grief Camp, which is one-day bereavement camp for children between the ages of 6 and 12 who have lost a family member. The Hospice of Charles County distributes teddy bears to terminally ill patients. The organization offers care and support services for men, women and children with life-limiting medical conditions. In addition, it provides medication evaluation and pain and symptom management programs. The Hospice of Charles County is located in La Plata, Md.
