The Franklin Academy is an educational institution that serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its educational program includes instruction in Spanish, German, art, music, writing and physical education. The academy also offers classes in performing arts, band, chorus, technology studies and character education. The Franklin Academy provides lunch, volunteer and immunization programs. It additionally offers an academically and intellectually gifted program that includes educational opportunities for students who show special performance potential. The academy organizes field trips and conferences. It offers Internet access and electronic mail services to students. Founded in 1998, the Franklin Academy has been recognized as a School of Distinction and a School of Excellence by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The academy is located in Wake Forest, N.C.
