- CrownsA. The best results occur when implants are done by a team approach. The actual surgical procedure for placing the implant is by your oral surgeon. Your restorative dentist then makes the crowns or bridges which are supported by the implants. This ensures that the appropriate expert handles each aspect of your care, and together offer additional insight into the many options available to you.

- Oral SurgeryThe care at Maui Oral Surgery was superb. Dr. Carter took care to explain everything in detail. His technical skills were excellent and his bedside manner was pleasant and comforting. I felt absolutely nothing during the procedure and throughout the postop recovery period. The staff was wonderful. I am an RN and I watched them closely as they set up the surgical trays. They were obviously highly skilled. All the staff made a point of making me feel welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were clean and spacious. The entire experience was of the highest caliber and I would recommend Dr. Carter and company to anyone that required oral surgery.

- OrthodonticsWisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth in the mouth to develop and erupt (break through the gums). Generally this occurs between the ages of 17 and 25. With the many benefits of modern dental care, orthodontics, and changes in the human diet, most people lack the space in their mouth to accommodate the third molars. Additionally, wisdom teeth are located far back in the mouth making them hard to reach and keep clean.Numerous problems can occur with wisdom teeth including cavities, periodontal disease (such as gum infections), crowding of teeth, and inference with dental work or orthodontics. Moreover, not all problems with wisdom teeth are obvious or painful, yet damage may be being done without your being aware. Prevention of these problems, or catching and treating them early on, is important for your overall health and quality of life.
- Cosmetic DentistrySome services are typically not covered by dental insurance companies. These include: cosmetic dentistry, implants, occlusion or bite redesign, and other services. Although these are important dental services that can greatly enhance the quality of life of our patients, dental insurance companies do not feel that they should have to pay for these services. That is why these services are rarely included in contracts with your employer.
