I just went to longs Wahiawa today to print out ONE 8x10 head shot for my daughter who had an audition the very same day (which is why I was in a hurry) and I had the hardest time getting the photo clerk to print it out. I had the photo shoot agreement with the photographers signature on it stating that I could make copies for my personal use. I even called the photographer himself and had her speak to him personally, and she STILL continued to give me a hard time with the print out.



The thing that was throwing her off was the wording "This permission is included with high resolution disks, with which the owner may make prints for personal use and sharing…" she actually thought that the consent form was on the disk, I told her that the words were just stating that the permission is also granted for the photos on the disk to be printed. I kept telling her that the disk only has my daughter's pictures on it and no consent form…THIS paper in front of you is the consent form…note the highlighted area under images and copyrights, along with the photographers signature on the bottom of the form.



She then underlines the words "explicitly written permission" on the form made by the photographer himself mind you, and states that I need to tell him that next time he needs to have written permission. I guess since it was typed and not written that it is not valid, even though his WRITTEN signature was on the photo shoot agreement form that HE typed out.



Anyways, I was almost late to the audition because of her crazy mix up with the typed words. I called 3 other longs photo centers, explained exactly what the form said and told them that this form came from the photographer himself and that it is signed by both he and I as per our agreement. They all said yes no problem, they could print out the photos, as long as the form came from the photographer himself and it is signed by him.



I've learned that…

1) I will never get a head shot printed out at Longs Wahiawa ever again and

2) You clearly do not need a college degree to work in the photo department at Longs, or possibly not even a high school diploma for that matter.
