To fully understand the impact of our mission you must take a look back at our beginnings and the man who has molded our fledgling company into a multi-million dollar corporation. Our founder, Bob Jones, began his career in the pest control industry in 1983 as a residential termite inspector for a large pest control company. During his time with that company Bob observed that many of the industry’s sales practices were outdated and made no sense – except to drive up the cost to its services. In addition to disliking the high prices charged by most pest control firms, homeowners simply do not have time to waste waiting around for 4 or 5 salesmen to come out. And they really hate the problems associated with high-pressure, commissioned salesmen knocking on their doors. Later, when Bob decided to go into business for himself he made streamlining the buying process his number one priority. He eliminated those high-pressure salesmen from the mix and passed the savings back to the homeowner. In essence he created a more efficient and affordable way to protect their home and family from the damage and disease caused by pests. Right away Bob knew he had something big because sales skyrocketed! Homeowners loved the concept and the lower prices. After working all of the bugs out, (pardon our pun), of the new service system, Bob took his message to the streets, literally! ValuePest began advertising its new flat-fee system on the radio and television and the rest was history. Every year ValuePest provides thousands of clients with guaranteed termite and pest control services while saving our clients hundreds of dollars. The first decade was “GREAT” and the company looks forward to an even brighter future. We have no plans to alter the concept and feel doing so would be a tremendous disservice to our franchisees, employees, and customers.
