After the bites went on for about a month, I began to get tired and worried that it may be something worse. So I strip my sheets, cleaned my mattress, and washed laundry every week. Bites first started in Middle of February on my 6 year old and it was only about 3 going up on his back and shoulder. I thought to myself no it couldnt be, but my friend in SC had gone through bedbugs a year ago and I was very much aware of them so I knew what to look for even though I was still in denial. The next morning his bites tripled thats when my gut said yup we got bed bugs but still I was in denial because we dont do anything to get bed bugs. Well after telling my husband and sending a snap shot of the bites to my friend she said yup those are bed bug bites and to hurry and get it taken care of. Kevin from Cimex brought his K-9 partner Wally to my house to inspect a possible bed bug problem after I experienced bites following a trip to the home of a friend who later informed me of her own problem. The search found traces of bugs but they were confined to a localized area (where I store bags) and not in my bed. Wally the dog also searched other rooms and determined that they were all clear. As such, Kevin recommended taking precautions to wash the items in the problem area, but to hold off on any further treatment options to see if that would solve the problemresults TBD, but the fact that he did not immediately suggest a full (and expensive) extermination plan and instead first thought to recommend something free-to-do made me very pleased with the experience altogether.
