Rex Alton started out in the sand blasting and painting business in 1968. In 1973 we added sand, gravel, trucking and Rex Alton Companies was formed. Also included was a small demolition division. In 1976, excavation equipment expanded the demolition division. In 1978 we were the first in the United States to build and operate an air lift dredge. It reaches depths of over 100 feet. Our ready mix concrete business began in 1981 including a complete concrete construction crew. In 1998 we formed a land development company to develop 25 acres of land on north 6th street in Vincennes, IN.
