MILITARY LIVING Military Living Publications is the largest travel publisher of military travel information for all uniformed services members, active and retired and their family members. ANN CADDELL CRAWFORD founded Military Living Publications in 1968 in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to that time, Ann was an accredited member of the press in South Vietnam over a period of four years. As a free-lance reporter, she worked for Copley News Service, a syndicated service, and her feature articles were published in more than 100 publications worldwide. She also worked for Pacific Stars and Stripes , Newsday and numerous other special-interest publications. In 1966, her first book was published by Charles E. Tuttle Company of Rutland, VT and Tokyo, Japan. That book, Customs and Culture of Vietnam' received the National Press Women's Award for first place in the non-fiction category in 1966. Ann's volunteer services over 28 years of Army life included serving on The Guard and Reserve Family Subcommittee of the Family Policy Coordinating Committee in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 1986. During the early years of the National Military Wives Association ( now the National Military Families Association ), she served as a Director. She has also served as Publicity Chairman of several wives/spouses' clubs which raised charitable funds for club activities supporting community needs. WILLIAM ROY CRAWFORD, SR., COL, USA ( Ret. ) joined Military Living Publications in 1982 after 28 years of service in the U.S. Army.
