- GynecologyDr. Hicks is a 1980 graduate of The University of Southern California, Los Angeles and a 1985 graduate of the University of California Davis School of Medicine. He completed his residency in OB-GYN at the Oregon Health Sciences University in 1989. Dr. Hicks became Board Certified in OB-GYN in 1991 and has been a Fellow of the American College of OB-GYN since 1993. Dr. Hicks has practiced in Victoria since 1994.

- Cervical CancerThe Papanicolaou smear (Pap test) is a test used to screen women for cervical precancer or cancer. Testing for human papilloma virus (HPV), see below, is another type of test for cervical cancer that can be used in women over age 30 in conjunction with the Pap test. Pap tests can find cervical cancer and precancer in the early stages when it can be treated, and thus may reduce the number of deaths from cervical cancer.

She was also awarded the Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Award. She was elected and served as Administrative Chief Resident in 2006-2007.
- UltrasoundThe Victoria Women's Clinic is able to provide in-house routine obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound exams at both or our locations. Enjoy the convenience of having your ultrasound appointment scheduled the same day as your visit with the doctor. Each physician then has the opportunity to review the results of your sonogram with you during your appointment.
- Minimally Invasive SurgeryDr. Torres' practice is open to obstetrics, infertility, urogynecology and variety of gynecology. Her training also included minimally invasive surgery, Da Vinci Robotic System, in office procedures, incontinence procedures and high risk pregnancies (diabetes, multiple gestations) for which she has a special interest. Dr. Torres is also fluent in Spanish.
- Robotic SurgeryHe has taken a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic surgery and laproscopic procedures. These allow women to return to normal activities in less time with minimal discomfort.
- HysterectomyMenopause is defined as the cessation of menstruation for 12 months uninterrupted. The lack of hormones means pregnancy is no longer possible and changes the body's appearance. Most women enter peri-menopause when estrogen levels begin to decline,as early as their 30s and reach menopause somewhere between 50 and 55, or following a complete hysterectomy.
- Endometrial AblationDr. Suarez's specialty interests include advanced robotic surgery, reproductive endocrinology and infertility and the provision of out-patient therapies that include the Essure sterilization procedure, endometrial ablation, and hysteroscopy.
- LaparoscopyUpon completing his residency, Dr. Zamora was awarded the Chief Resident Achievement Award in Laparoscopy by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He joined the Victoria Women's Clinic in September 2011.
- Reconstructive SurgeryDr. McDowell graduated from Edna High School in 1981. He went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went to medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and graduated in top 10% of his class. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, he completed his OB-GYN training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Texas A&M University Health Science Center. While there he developed an interest in gynecologic oncology and pelvic reconstructive surgery.
