I recently went to C & S Small Engine to find out the cost, or estimated cost, of a repair for my lawn mower. He told me he doesn’t give estimates any more and I would have to leave it and that he would fix it first and then tell me the cost when he’s done. I told him I’m not going to leave my mower here without knowing, or being given, at least an estimate for the job. He eventually told me he charges $60 per hour. I said “That’s great to know, it helps a whole lot. So the only thing left to do was to get the price of the part needed. Then we will get a much better idea of how much it would cost for the repair or The ESTIMATED COST. I started to think, what other businesses do this? Who tells their clients, "I'm really not sure what it's gonna cost to put up your fence but I’ll let you know when I’m done. Or painting your house or mowing your lawn. Oh well it is what it is...
