A difficult diagnosis but one should try and ask the patient. The fact of an unremitting cough was ignored as was substernal burning. There was no fever, not unusual in geezers whose immune system is not up to par. Strep-screen was negative,,OK it test for 1 pathogen and not the other 1,000. I did suggest a test or two to deaf ears. Deja-vu all over again,, they tried a bit harder with me last year when I had respiratory syncytial virus from the grand kids and due to inadaquet treatment I almost died. Everything looked good except the real Emergency room physician tested for heart stress, BNP, the normal cut-off for the lab was 100Units and my levels was 16,000. They did not tell me if that was the record but they had me in the cardio-pulmonary ICU within minutes.

This office used to be great but over the past year it has really gone down hill. I called to make my two daughters a sick appt on 12/30 and was told they did not have anything for the two doctors we see until the 1/7 or 1/11. I thought uhs had sick appts everyday?!?! Then i ask to speak with the office manager and she says she has something the next day...hmm. I asked why i was being told two different things and she said something about how they keep more sick appts open for the younger children (under 2) and said something about how because older ones or for something less important could just go to the walk in. Wow, I guess i'm looking at a primary care doctor all wrong! This is not the only problem i have had with this office lately. I came in one time and I was 5 mins late, waited in line to check in for about 10 mins. I finally get up there to check in and the woman said "oh let me call back to see if they will still see you, you are past the 15 min mark" I was shocked! I was "past the 15 min make" because i waited in line forever because it takes them so long now to check people in. I think its time to start looking for a new office because this one is such a nightmare now. I feel like i cant even trust theses people and that my children dont matter to them!
