Forbes Elementary School has a staff of nearly 40 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes a behavior management specialist, reading specialist, hearing impaired support teacher, school nurse, speech therapist, and art and music professionals. The school organizes the Forbes Environmental Awareness Program, which promotes respect for and awareness about the Earth. Forbes Elementary School also conducts field trips to several places, such as the Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh Zoo, Beechwood Farms, Heinz History Center and a walking tour of Pittsburgh. The school maintains a parent-teacher association that sponsors educational and social programs that compliment the classroom curriculum. Forbes Elementary School is a part of the Penn Hills School District and is located in Verona, Pa.
