- Stress ManagementFrom an occupational therapy perspective, now is a good time to go back to our meditation, breathing and sensory exercises to calm down and de-stress. Rather than trying to acquire new therapy skills, like handwriting or arithmetic, pause and work on stress management with mindfulness, yoga, aerobic exercises and other techniques outlined in my recent blog on anxiety.
- Mental HealthElisa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Montclair State University (2009) and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University (2011). She is currently a licensed, registered, and school certified Occupational Therapist, practicing within the pediatric population. Elisa also has experience working in inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation with adults who have suffered traumatic/acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and various orthopedic conditions. Elisa has worked on several research studies, including one in the area of mental practice/visualization, of which she presented to the Columbia University student body. She is also a co-author of Hard-Wired for Groups: Students and Clients in the Classroom and Clinic, which has been published by AOTA in the Mental Health Special Interest Section Quarterly.

- Physical TherapyAllison received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey after completing her undergraduate work in Exercise Science with a minor in Health, Physical Activity, and Disability at the University of Delaware. She is a licensed and school certified physical therapist in New Jersey. Allison has experience working within the Early Intervention System and school-based settings with children with a variety of diagnoses. Allison has a passion for working with the pediatric population to achieve the highest outcomes for the students in her care.
- Occupational TherapyOccupational therapists working at the Center For Children's Therapy must be NJ State licensed, Department of Education certified, and registered by the National Board of Occupational Therapy.
