General Info
The Honders family, Johannes ( Hans ), Glee and Hans, started Island Pool & Spa in 1989. We started small and continued to grow on a yearly basis. In the fall of 1996 a new Island Pool & Spa store was built on Rt. 1, on Verona Island, Me. We now have over 5000 sq. ft. of retail and showroom space, including our "Tiki Hut" showroom that features a running spa that can be used for a "wet test" and another 5000 sq. ft. of storage space. My father, Johannes Honders was the founder of Island Pool & Spa. He provided the background and knowledge for us to continue the growth of the business when he passed in 1998. Today we service pools and spas throughout the Downeast, Coastal and Greater Bangor area. Our goal is to provide you with a swimming pool or spa experience that provides you with years of enjoyment with a minimal amount of work. Our Summer maintenance Programs make it possible for you to enjoy your pool or spa, while we do the work. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and our knowledgeable staff is ready to assist you with your pool and spa needs. Our technicians have been trained to provide you with the best service possible and have the knowledge to trouble shoot situations that may arise with your system. All our technicians are certified by the National Swimming Pool Foundation to be professional swimming pool and spa operators. We have a fully staffed office from 9: 00 A.M. to 5: 00 P.M. Monday -Friday, and Saturdays from 9: 00 A.M. to 1: 00 P.M.

We purchased a Saratoga Spa in August of 2004 from Island Pool & Spa. Prior to that we had an older spa given to us that we used for several years.
