Based in Olympia, Wash., Washington State Department of Labor and Industries is a state agency that administers workers compensation system regarding safety, health and security. The agency is responsible for protecting the health/safety of workers, ensures medical care/financial help for injured workers and protects workers wages/hours/breaks. It provides medical, limited wage replacement coverage to workers who suffer job related injuries and illness. Washington State Department of Labor and Industries also provides inspection services for electrical work/boilers/elevators certify plumbers and register construction contractors, among others.
