- SinusitisThis common disease affects 37 million people in the United States each year, making it more prevalent than asthma and heart disease. With chronic sinusitis, the mucous membranes of your nose, sinuses and throat swell due to inflammation in conjunction with either a cold or allergies. This inflammation blocks the natural pathways and prevents drainage. The mucus and pressure builds up. Depending on the duration, there are three types of sinusitis: acute (less than four weeks), subacute (four to 12 weeks) and chronic (more than 12 weeks).

- Primary CareI traveled from nearly 400 miles away to see Dr. Jones, because I heard about how talented he was, and I really wanted to get my eyes done. Dr. Jones performed an upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty on me, and now I just love my eyes! I recently visited with my primary care doctor, and he noticed that I had gotten my eyes done. He said they were marvelous, and wanted to know, along with all of my friends, who the doctor was that had performed my surgery. He was so impressed that he wanted to refer other patients to Dr. Jones.
- Ear InfectionsBactrim over the counterpills via our online platform Bactrim is a very well-known prescription medication generally used in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. The drug itself is a combination of two powerful antimicrobial agents(sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) each of which affects different types of bacteria, which makes this medication useful against typical pathogenic agents that cause urinary tract infections, middle ear infections, respiratory infections, and even shigellosis. Of course, such an efficient therapeutic agent simply cannot be used without...
- Sleep DisordersApproximately 20 million Americans are afflicted with a common sleep disorder called sleep apnea. Unfortunately, many of us are unaware that a sleep disorder could be the underlying cause of our health problems, while others fortunately are aware of their sleep disorder but completely uninformed of the severe consequences of untreated sleep apnea. While the symptoms of sleep apnea may differ between men and women, the condition is associated equally. What is Sleep Apnea? Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep. People with...

- EndoscopyMost sinus infections are diagnosed after a simple physical exam where the doctor looks inside the nasal cavity and manipulates the sinuses externally, and from the patients’ answers to a list of questions. In severe cases, patients may need to undergo a CT scan or nasal endoscopy to better understand the problem.

- MRIDizziness and balance problems are evaluated and treated in our office. The sense of balance is controlled by a complex relationship between the central nervous system, inner ears, eyes, joints, muscles and sensory receptors. A variety of problems may arise to cause loss of balance, dizziness or vertigo. Several steps are involved in diagnosing balance problems. A thorough history, medical examination and hearing evaluation are required. Dr. Jones may request further tests to help diagnose the problem: Electronystagmography (ENG), Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Computorize Tomography Scan (CT).
- Computed TomographyPatients who feel no resolution of their symptoms after 6-8 weeks of medical therapy are candidates for endoscopic sinus surgery intervention. For patients failing medical therapy, a CT scan will be ordered to further evaluate sinuses. Dr. Jones has performed over 2,000 endoscopic powered sinus surgeries. He uses instruments to remove diseased tissue and reshapes sinuses by opening them with precision under direct telescopic guidance. One of the many advantages of sinus surgery is that it is an outpatient procedure. You may go home in a few hours, after the operation.

- DermabrasionAn in-office skin reconstructive surgery for cancerous lesions is simple by visiting an ENT like Dr. Jones because no overnight stay in a hospital is required. The physician can inject a numbing solution, a local anesthetic, under the skin before using cool laser, scalpel or dermabrasion skin cancer therapies. Because Dr. Jones specializes in understanding the anatomy of the face and neck, patients experience minimal scarring. After the lesion is removed, the skin cells are collected to perform a biopsy to determine if it was cancerous. In addition, laboratory technicians can learn the type of cancer and its level from the biopsy process. In many cases, patients require no additional skin cancer treatments from us.
- Skin CancerAnyone with unusual skin discolorations on the skin should contact our ear, nose and throat physician to schedule an appointment for an examination as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment is the best way to overcome the dangers of skin cancer.
- LesionsMany children visit ENT specialists for chronic colds, earaches, or seasonal allergies, but an ear, nose and throat physician also treats adults for problems such as sinus infections or skin cancer treatments. Cancerous lesions on the faces of adults are fairly common due to frequent skin exposure while sunbathing, working outside or driving a vehicle. Many mature adults are experiencing sun damage on the skin tissue of their faces and necks because protective sunscreen products were not available several years ago. In-office skin reconstructive surgery is especially important for the neck and face because patients can not cover up the areas with clothing.
- AllergiesIf you believe that you are suffering from allergies, our ENT physician is able to help right away. By taking advantage of allergy testing procedures, our Ear, Nose and Throat doctor will be able to pinpoint your exact allergies and come up with the best treatment process for you.
