Dr. Poly provides one-on-one nutrition counseling to a variety of patients (ages 18+) to improve their health and nutritional status using individualized diet and lifestyle plans. Patients achieve goals such as normalizing weight, increasing strength and endurance, and reducing or preventing medication use through improved cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Dr. Poly specializes in chronic disease prevention and management such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension,high cholesterol/lipids, IBS and Celiac disease. Dr. Poly also has background in prenatal care and nutrition during and post pregnancy. Her research interest is in Aging well & Brain health. When asked what are her keys to success she states, "I practice with honesty and passion. Change is hard and must be acceptable and doable by the patient. Success come from working closely with each patient to develop plans that works for them while educating to provide skills for permanent wellness. Staying healthy can only be achieved by knowing how to take care of your body!" Dr. Poly has a strong background in Diabetes, Cardiac Health and Older Adult Nutrition. She completed the diabetic certification course “Stepping up to Insulin: Rational Approaches to Intensifying Treatment in Type 2 Diabetes.” She continues to provide community nutrition education to senior populations in Senior Centers, Assisted Living and Independent Living Communities. Dr. Poly received her doctorate degree in Medical Nutrition Therapy at Boston University, School of Medicine, and received the Julie Award for her research on Choline Intake and Alzheimer’s disease. Her manuscript published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Poly is a Private Practitioner @ Uxbridge Orthopedic and Sports Therapy - and accepts all major insurance.
