General Info
O'Scugnizzo Pizzeria was founded in 1914 by Eugeno Burlino. He only sold tomato pie (a pizza without mozzarella cheese) and they only cost a nickel. He was then succeeded by his son, Angelo "Chops" Burline, who made O'Scugnizzo what it is today. Almost 90 years later, O'Scugnizzo is still in business in the beautiful city of Utica and is now run by his son Steven Burline.

I love O'Scugnizzo Pizzeria, always have. As a child I remember living in the Washington Courts Apts. I remember the Pizza Truck coming around and selling us slices of pizza. That use to be one of the highlights waiting for that truck to come. Then after it stopped scraping up our pennies to walk to Bleecker St. to buy a #7. Still the favorite of most of the old and new who loved O'Scugnizzo. I just ordered a small #7 for myself!!! Can't talk about it and not order it! Nothing less than a 5
Their pizza is always delicious and freshly made. It's not your typical pizza and thats what makes it so special. If you don't know the twist, just go give it a try for yourself. All I can say is I moved to California and when my Mom asked me if I wanted any reminders of the Italian food from East Utica, the first thing I asked for was an O'Scugnizzo sausage pizza.
