The Chief of Police s office is responsible for the management that results in an efficient and effective crime-fighting agency. It also works to coordinate relations between departments, citizens and residents it serves, and local, state and federal agencies. The office is a part of the George's County Police Department, which is a law enforcement agency. The George's County Police Department works to protect the lives and property of residents. The department s forensic services division, accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board, is responsible for supporting the judicial system by analyzing submitted evidence. It is governed by Prince George's County in Maryland.
