      Union Medical Center (UMC) began providing healthcare services to the residents of Union County when it was founded in 1921 as Wallace Thompson Hospital. Now a part of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Union Medical Center is a 143-bed hospital located in Union, SC. Union Medical Center patients enjoy the benefits of belonging to the integrated healthcare delivery system of SRHS, which includes coordinated care of medical services, access to a multi-specialty physician group, care provided by the same board certified inpatient and emergency center physicians, increased efficiencies and access to the most advanced technologies.
