At the Tutoring Connection we define tutoring as what happens when a teacher shares knowledge with a student in a setting that is outside of the classroom. That knowledge can come in two forms. The student can come to understand the subject matter better or he/she can understand how best to learn the material. At the Tutoring Connection, we teach students both. We do so in one-on-one tutoring sessions that last a minimum of one hour and a maximum of two. During the student's first session with the tutor, the tutor will conduct an assessment, which will establish a diagnosis, a goal (or goals), and a treatment plan. The tutoring sessions thereafter will follow the treatment plan until the goal is reached.
