Leah works with families to help them find solutions to their problems and concerns. She believes therapy takes place in the context of the therapeutic relationship and she accomplishes this by establishing trust and rapport through listening, providing support, and helping her clients feel safe. But just as important is providing practical knowledge and skills to help parents and children learn new ways to cope and manage feelings and behavior so they have a new toolbox of skills to help them feel happy, successful, and able to thrive. Some of the modalities Leah uses are Insight Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, relaxation techniques including mindfulness and guided meditations, and psychoeducation and behavior management training for parents.
