King County Housing Authority, located in Seattle, is an independent municipal corporation. Established in 1939, it provides affordable housing options for the residents of King County in Washington. The agency offers a variety of supportive services, such as education, job training and social services. In addition, it offers housing repair and weatherization services and assistance in tax-exempt financing options. The agency offers subsidized and workforce housing options under Section 8. It serves more than 40,000 local residents with less income than the county s median income. The agency supports more than 15,000 households in housing options among over 20 suburban cities and the unincorporated areas of the county. King County Housing Authority partners with numerous local communities and nonprofit organizations.
