Esperero Canyon Middle School, located in Tucson, Ariz., is affiliated with the Catalina Foothills Unified District 16. Founded in 1990, the school provides a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 600 students in grades six through eight. Its core curriculum includes English, arts, music, science, social studies, mathematics, and computer and physical education. Esperero Canyon Middle School also offers foreign languages, health education, language arts, and visual and performing arts. The school offers the family-faculty organization, student council and various extended day programs, such as athletics, arts, music, drama, sports and academics. It also provides a nationally recognized chess program to students.
