- CrownsA dental implant is composed of a titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone, where the bone fuses with the new root. A small portion of the implants is visible above the gum line – the abutment – which is used as the site to attach a natural-looking crown (or other restoration, such as dentures).
- Bridges
- DenturesFull dentures, partial dentures, flippers, and Essix retainers may be delivered upon the day of your surgical procedure. Details on when to wear and how to use your appliance will be given during the consultation or during post-operative instructions.
- Dental ImplantsMissing teeth over a period of time can cause your jaw bone to atrophy, or resorb. This often results in poor quality and quantity of bone suitable for the placement of dental implants as well as long term shifting of remaining teeth and changes to facial structure. Most patients, in these situations, are not candidates for dental implants.

- Jaw SurgeryOral and Maxillofacial Surgeons perform orthognathic (jaw) surgery to correct a wide range of facial and dental problems, including misaligned jaws and occlusion (bite) problems that can result in difficulties with breathing, speaking and chewing. Also, since orthognathic surgery is designed to bring the jaws and facial profile into balance, it can also have an appreciable effect on the patient’s appearance.
- Pre-prosthetic SurgeryWhether it is dentures, partials, bridges or dental implants, many people at some point in their lives will need some kind of dental prosthetic. When that happens, the mouth needs to be prepared for the prosthetic in some way, depending on the kind of prosthetic, its placement location and other factors. When getting dentures, for example, some patients may experience difficulties with keeping dentures in place and functioning properly, due to the size or shape of the jaws, gum problems, or the muscular structure of the mouth. This is when pre-prosthetic surgery can be especially helpful – by alleviating or eliminating these problems, patients can wear their dental prostheses with greater ease and success, increasing oral health and quality of life.
- Maxillofacial SurgeryAt Casas Adobes Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, our team of highly-skilled surgeons and staff are experts in treating a variety of conditions related to the mouth, teeth, jaw and facial areas.
- Tooth ExtractionsAfter tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. Bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes immediately after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times to staunch the flow of blood.
- Bone GraftingBone grafting can repair implant sites with inadequate bone structure due to previous extractions, gum disease, or injuries. The bone is either obtained from a tissue bank or your own bone is taken from the jaw, hip or tibia (below the knee). Sinus bone grafts are also performed to replace bone in the posterior upper jaw. In addition, special membranes may be utilized that dissolve under the gum to protect the bone graft, as well as encourage bone regeneration. This is called guided bone regeneration, or guided tissue regeneration.
