      General Info
      Established in 1976, the Arizona Cancer Center is one of the locations designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for undertaking treatment, research and education activities on various types of cancers. The center also administers the NCI s Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant for gastrointestinal cancers. It specializes in men s and women s cancers, including breast, ovarian, prostrate, colon, pancreas, skin and lymphoma. The Arizona Cancer Center operates primary research sites at The University of Arizona in Tucson, as well as in Scottsdale in Arizona. The center maintains several research and education offices throughout Arizona, as well as affiliate sites in Colorado and Mexico. The Arizona Cancer Center also operates the University Medical Center, which is its clinical affiliate in Tucson.
