Established in 1906, Truckee Sanitary District (TSD) is a public agency responsible for the collection and conveyance of wastewater in the greater Truckee area. The facility also produces electricity at its new photovoltaic (PV) power plant. It is one of the oldest sanitary districts in the state of California. Truckee Sanitary District operates and maintains approximately 300 miles of gravity pipelines containing 3,927 manholes, nine miles of pressure pipeline, 10 main lift and 30 smaller lift stations.
