General Info
Miami County Park District, located in Troy, Ohio, offers various services that include wildlife education, leisure activities and guidance to visitors. The district comprises parks, trails, waterfalls, streams, forests, prairie, wetlands and lakes. Miami County Park District has various preserves and sanctuaries, including Charleston Falls, Garbry Big Woods, Goode Prairie, Hobart Urban Nature, and Honey Creek. It also offers Stillwater Prairie and Twin Arch Reserve, Great Miami River Recreational Trail, and Greenville Falls State Scenic River Area. The district conducts special programs and events, including adventure trips, campfires, fishing, and cooking activities. Various species of trees are planted throughout the district, including oak, sycamore, maple, beech, basswood, buckeye, willow, hickory, cottonwood, dogwood, persimmon, walnut, cherry, and tulip poplar. The Board of Park Commissioners, appointed by the Probate Court Judge of Miami County, governs the Miami County Park District.
