      General Info
      Born in Colorado Dr. Black attended high school in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Finished his undergraduate in pre-dental programs at Andrews University in Michigan in an unprecedented two years of study. He then attended Loma Linda University , School of Dentistry receiving his degree in 1974. He went to serve in the United States Army from 1975 to 1997. Dr. Black was decorated with many awards and medals during his 21 and 1/2 years of service in the army before retiring. Dr. John Black has many personal interests which included flying and working on his airplane, sailing, riding his Honda Goldwing, traveling (especially to Europe) and being involved with his family and church activities. He enjoys tinkering in his metal shop, fabricating Kit engines and milling precise hardened-steel objects. He also flies remote-controlled airplanes. He also has an interest for adults and children with special needs due to his handicapped step-daughter. Currently, Dr. Black has a General P ractice in Troy, Ohio. He is an active member of the Troy Kiwanis Club, being elected to the board of directors for 2006. He also holds membership in AOPA, EAA, and his local church. Dr. Black is committed to state of the art dentistry, offering digital x-rays, cosmetic dentistry, tooth whitening procedures, and is currently the only dentist in Troy utilizing a CAD-CAM system to fabricate porcelain crowns in one visit. He attends continuing education classes throughout the United States.
