Applied BioPhysics is a private company founded in 1991 to develop, commercialize and market a biophysical technology known as Electric Cell-substrate Impedance Sensing. It is a novel electrical method used to study, in real time, many of the activities of animal cells when grown in tissue culture. Applied BioPhysics applies the results of biophysical research to provide practical tools for cell research and drug discovery. Its automated cell monitoring instruments feature non-invasive, real time continuous quantitative multiple simultaneous measurements and use standard tissue, culture and media. The instruments don t require fluorescent or radiolabeled materials. Applied Biophysics headquarters is in Troy, N.Y.
