General Info

J. A. Hebert & Son was founded in 1918 by Joseph Auguste Hebert. Joseph apprenticed for a number of years at the Casavant Frères factory in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. He then moved to Detroit, Michigan to begin his long illustrious career. As a representative for Casavant Frères, he sold and installed Casavant pipe organs throughout the Great Lakes area. Joseph holds the record for the greatest number of sales and installations in the company's history. He continued to work at building his business well into his 80's. Paul Hebert, upon graduating from college in 1947, joined his father in the pipe organ business. It was at this time that Joseph added "& Son" to the company name. Father and Son continued to build the business together. J.A. Hebert & Son sold and installed over 160 Casavant pipe organs in Michigan alone. Paul was quite progressive in his time, he helped create one of the first Solid State pipe organ control systems in use. He was also involved with helping Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ Company as their organ installation director. Upon Paul's retirement in 1980, Roch Morin (Paul's cousin) carries on the family tradition and continues to lead the business in pipe organ design, installation, organ sales new/used and service. Roch is a Commercial Rated pilot and uses his aircraft for sales and service throughout the Midwest.
