The Arc/Mercer, established in 1950, provides a variety of educational and recreational activities for children with mental and developmental disabilities. The organization serves more than 1,000 people with cognitive disability. It operates the Step Ahead Early Childhood Learning Center, which provides services to students with social, physical, language and cognitive disabilities. It offers an adult resources program that provides a variety of social, recreational, volunteer and work opportunities to individuals with disabilities. The Arc/Mercer operates several group homes and supervised and supported living apartments. The organization offers a variety of additional services, such as recreation planning and assistance, banking, shopping, behavior support and advocacy services.
