Northern Michigan Health Training School provides education and skill for students to begin work as a Certified Nursing Assistant immediately upon completion of the program, and will prepare you to take the State of Michigan licensing test. Before entering into an RN or LPN program, new state prerequisites require potential nursing students to first become CNAs. Stay ahead of the curve and go confidently toward your dreams. Take the first step by enrolling in our CNA training today. The Certified Nursing Assistant program includes education on theory, laboratory, and on-site clinical instruction. Qualified staff will teach skills on body systems, disease, and treatment for patients and their plans regarding care. Students will learn medical terms and how to observe and act upon individual resident needs. Upon successful completion of this course, the graduate Certified Nursing Assistant will be eligible to take the State of Michigan CNA certification written and skill exam. Classes are traditionally offered Monday through Friday over three weeks, but flexible night and/or weekend instruction can be coordinated with staff. Class with CPR Basic Life Support for the HealthCare Provider is available for $925. All forms of payment are accepted including cash, check, money order or credit card. In an effort to provide trained staff to nursing homes, the State of Michigan has funds available to CNA graduates after program completion. We can discuss this in-depth with you.
