- MurderThomas J. Wall was born in Torrington in 1879 and, following his graduation from Harvard Law School, established the firm in 1906 at an office on Main Street - we have only moved up the street since that time. Thomas J. Wall was a respected lawyer and was elevated to the positions of State’s Attorney and Connecticut Superior Court Judge. Thomas survived a murder attempt on March 18, 1925, when bootleggers threw dynamite at his home. He demonstrated his commitment to justice when he argued for leniency towards the perpetrators of his attempted murder, petitioning for their sentences to be reduced. He left this legacy of zealous advocacy, wisdom, and compassion, to his sons, Thomas F. Wall and Robert Wall – a tradition the firm carries on to this day.
