Melissa provides a service that allows you to learn to play the piano right from the comfort and convenience of your very own home, or in her home and private piano studio.Melissa Traugott earned her Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Nazareth College of Rochester (December 2007). For the last two and a half years she traveled the area east of Rochester privately teaching piano lessons at her students homes. She accompanied her church choirs for many years and was employed as a professional accompanist at a local public school in the Rochester, NY area. She enjoys performing for various occasions and events. She recently received her Master of Science degree in Music Education (August 2012) while also receiving an Advanced Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Nazareth College of Rochester (May 2012). After completing MS in Music Education, she has returned to the Buffalo, NY area to teach. Formerly serving the areas of Farmington, Macedon, and Palmyra, New York since late 2009. Relocating to the Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo) area by October 2012. Mission: My Philosophy: My goal is to give my students the necessary knowledge of the concepts of music and a thorough understanding of the techniques involved in playing the piano. I will teach them so that they may achieve their own personal goals of playing the piano and making music, whether it is for the joy of expression or to one day consider a profession involving music. Performance Opportunities: Recitals and Competitions Summer Piano Camp: Fun and exciting group workshops, games, and activities allowing students to work with one another to learn more about music theory and ensemble performance! Please Contact Melissa for any further information. 2013-2014 Rates: 30 minute weekly lesson- $75 monthly 45 minute weekly lesson- $105 monthly 60 minute weekly lesson- $130 monthly These fees are applicable to the academic school year (September - June) which includes 37 weeks of lessons. This schedule will accommodate for the Winter Holiday recess, Spring recess, and February recess from school. Any / all Monday studio closings (due to holidays) will be rescheduled to other days/times. These prices do not include any applicable travel fees. Free Introductory Interview! References Available
