The Toledo Police Department, located in Toledo, Ohio, maintains social order and peace, as well as provides law enforcement services. It provides services for the protection of residents lives and property, as well as deterrence, detection and investigation of criminal activities. The Toledo Police Department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of the program. The department maintains administrative, support services, operations and investigative services divisions. The Toledo Police Department also operates the Emergency Response Team (ERT), which deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including barricaded persons, high-risk warrant arrests, explosive devices and heavily armed criminals.
