General Info
Dr. John Willer is the owner of Cascade Eye Center. In addition to working with patients with routine vision care needs, chronic disease treatment, and injury treatment, he also performs cataract surgery, YAG laser treatments, and iStent® insertions at the Columbia Gorge Surgery Center. He also administers injections for age-related macular degeneration and therapeutic Botox® for conditions such as chronic muscle spasm around the eye. Dr. Willer has always been an active participant in his local community and globally. During his college years, he served as a Paramedic and Firefighter with the Cedarville College EMS and the Cedarville Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was Chief of Cedarville College EMS for two terms. Locally in the Gorge, he served as Reserve Deputy in Hood River, Board of Directors, Budget Committee, and Civil Service Commission for Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue, Urban Renewal Advisory Committee, and Urban Renewal Agency in The Dalles. He has also served on the Rules Advisory Committee for the Oregon Board of Advanced Estheticians. He has traveled worldwide for multiple medical mission trips to India, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Lebanon where he provided no-cost cataract surgery to hundreds of patients. Dr. Willer completed his ophthalmology residency at Grandview and Southview Hospitals in Dayton, Ohio, and was Board Certified by The American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology in 1998 and the American Board of Surgeons.
