It also provides ELT test equipment and training transmitters for the Civil Air Patrol and various search and rescue groups. Started in 1970 as Aero Electronics, the business manufactures Pointer ELT, Model 3000-10, 3000-11 series and Pointer Sentry, Model 4000-10 and Model 4000-11 in Tempe, Ariz. and distributes its units in Canada through Pointer Avionics. The company also provides a military variant, NSN 5826013077380 for installation in transport and refueling aircraft. Additionally, it offers the new Model 8000 series ELT for quick identification of emergencies as well as for airborne and ground search operations.
