I recently hired DB Home Inspections to inspect my first home purchase. I was so overwhelmed by the whole buying process that I completely trusted that the report was accurate and thorough. I could not have been more wrong. Along with multiple obvious minor issues, there were a number of much more serious misses that ended up costing me money. The most important was the five out of six outlets in the master that weren't functioning when we finally moved in. The ceiling fan was burnt and I had to call an electrician. He came and fixed the issues which included an improperly wired outlet that may have been the source of the problem. Tnere was a full 120 volts coming out of the neutral wire at the ceiling fan . This, in turn, caused the breaker to fry dude to being tripped too many times. Five out of six outlets and this company couldn't pick up on one of them?? Not too thorough. I emailed the owner, David, and was met with immediate resistance and a very condescending attitude. I never once asked him for anything other than to do the right thing( which would obviously have been a refund to offset the 337 I paid the electrician). I was instead informed of how wrong I was and how I should've hired a contractor from basically every trade to inspect the house. I thought that's what I paid them to do. never once did the owner offer to come out and take a look for himself. He instead chose to sit behind his computer and sling insults and talk down to me. He actually told me that meatal doesn't rot ( even though my side gates are completely rotting at the bottom) He tried to justify everything they missed by giving me bad advice on how to fix the issues. He told me to just " brush the gates with a wire brush and paint them with rustoleum. Couldn't have been more wrong. When I informed him that I am a seasoned painter with over 40 years experience in not only the painting industry, but all aspects of construction. And tat his information was incorrect, I never heard another word. The right thing to do would have been to AT LEAST came here and looked with his own two eyes before rushing to judgement. Instead he just refused any civil conversation and went right to defense mode.. His reaction is what is fueling this review, not the initial terrible inspection. Anyone an have a bad or off day. I know that better than some. But when a customer contacts you, with many, many pictures to back up their claim and you just brush it off because you already have the CASH that they gave you, the very least you can do it investigate before making a decision. I would highly recommend finding another company to inspect your home.

PERFECT!! TAKES THE TIME TO DO INSPECTIONS RIGHT!! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS INSPECTION COMPANY!! I AM A REAL ESTATE AGENT AND I USE HIM EVERY TIME.
